AIMMS is an advanced development environment for building optimization based decision support applications and advanced planning systems. It is used by leading companies in a wide range of industries in areas such as supply chain management, production planning, logistics, forestry planning and risk-, revenue- and asset- management.

Next to a mathematical modeling language, AIMMS offers a number of advanced modeling concepts and a full graphical interactive user interface both for developers and end-users. It also offers link to solvers as CPLEX, XPRESS, CONOPT, SNOPT, XA, BARON, LGO, KNITRO, IPOPT, etc. to handle problems in linear programming, integer programming, nonlinear programming, quadratic programming, and more.

The extended algorithmic capabilities allow users to build their own heuristics or modify provided modules that include Outer Approximation for MINLP, Benders decomposition for solving multi-stage stochastic programming problems, Parallel execution for distributed solver sessions, and more.

Johannes Bisschop founded Paragon Decision Technology B.V. in 1989 with the goal of producing a general purpose, powerful tool for modelers and decision makers. The first commercial AIMMS system was introduced onto the market at the end of 1993, since then AIMMS has established itself as a solid professional leader in Optimization Modeling with an international reputation and offices in Haarlem (The Netherlands), Kirkland (Washington, US) and Singapore.
